Low Sleek Curly Ponytail with Kinky Straight Clip Ins
Hey curlfriends and welcome back.
For today's tutorial, I'm going to show you guys how to create this low, sleek, curly ponytail with clip ins.
I was so excited to do these wand curls honey, using my kinky straight clip ins from Natural Boss Lady.
If you haven't already; go ahead and check out my install video for this particular ponytail to see all of the specs on this hair as well as how I got to this ponytail point because I'm just going to go right into the curling section of the tutorial.
As always, we're starting off with our heat protectant. Today's heat protectant that I'm using is from Macadamia Professionals. This is their thermal protectant spray. These clip ins are made of 100% human hair so they will suffer the same exact damage as if it were your own hair so you definitely want to protect your investment.
I'm also using this Remington Wand to create our wand curls. I wanted nice medium sized curls. I didn't want it to be too big but I wanted it to be a nice medium size. I'll be fluffing it towards the end to give it a lot more of a bigger, fuller and nicer look.
I want to make sure that each and every strand is wrapped evenly around the wand so that it heats up the hair and curls evenly. You don't want to overlap the hair over each other or else you'll end up with some cold areas that are not going to get the heat and they are not going to curl at all. It will be bone straight.
As far as the sizing of your curls, you want to grab the amount of hair that you want to be curled. That is what is going to be the size of your curls. If you grab a small section, you're going to end up with small curls. If you grab a large section, you'll end up with curls that are really large. I'm going for medium sized sections to get medium sized curls. It's a really simple hairstyle but it can totally jazz up your look. I started off on naturally curly hair and ended up with this long, luscious curly ponytail slicked back. It's great for any casual date or day out period. You can dress it up for a nice, elegant look. In total, this hairstyle took me about 10-15 minutes. It's a really simple and easy hairstyle. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this tutorial.
